Guest Members Can Now Be Selected as the Payer
Previously, Sharepay allowed you to add Guest members when creating a split. However, only logged-in members could be selected as the person who paid the expense. With this update, you can now choose any member as the payer, including both registered users and Guest members.
This improvement better reflects real-life situations where someone outside the app may have paid for a shared expense. Whether it's a friend who hasn't signed up yet or a family member who prefers not to use the app, you can now accurately record who paid.
Smart Settlement for Guest Payers
Including Guest members in your expense splits is now easier than ever. When a Guest is selected as the payer, Sharepay automatically handles the settlement process by assigning the settlement action to the currently logged-in user.
This simple automation keeps expense records accurate, ensures smooth settlements, and lets you include non-registered participants without interrupting your group's workflow.
This version highlights the benefit first, avoids focusing on limitations, and presents the feature as a convenience rather than a workaround.
New Improvement: Settle Up Directly from the Split Details Screen
We've also made settling shared expenses quicker and more convenient.
Previously, users had limited options for settling payments from an individual split. Now, the Split Details screen includes a dedicated Settle Up option.
From this screen, you can:
- View outstanding balances for that specific split.
- Settle payments without navigating to another section.
- Keep individual expense records updated in just a few taps.
- Complete settlements faster with a smoother workflow.
This enhancement helps users manage group expenses more efficiently while reducing the number of steps required to settle payments.
